District Governor 2022-2023 Michael Thompson
Michael joined the Rotary Club of Marlton in 2012. He proudly served as President during the 2017-18 and 2019-20 terms. He successfully organized and participated in the clubs Military Appreciation Day events, Annual Pancake Breakfasts, Literacy Programs, 5K Police Union Run, and multiple other community and club service projects. He was appointed as Assistant District Governor in 2018.

His service to the Marlton community has led to his memberships and board appointment to the Marlton Business Association, the Evesham Economic Advisory Council, and the Evesham Education Foundation. These appointments were especially important to him in his efforts to stimulate the post pandemic economy for small business owners. He is also passionate about educating youths. Michael is also on the Marlton Zoning Board.  As a District Membership Chair, he has worked to implement Community Needs Assessments. The assessments improved the outcomes of community planning locally because its outline gave a greater look at the needs and strengths of neighboring communities.

He has been a Youth Leader at the Marlton Assembly of God, and a coach for the Marlton Recreation League. He has volunteered at the Cathedral Kitchen, Manna, the South Jersey Food Bank, and for the Rise Against Hunger programs which provide wholesome and nutritious meals to hundreds of thousands of people across the world. With Habitat for Humanity and the Marlton Elks, he has worked to house homeless Veterans. Michael has an active relationship with the Volunteers of America in which he has assisted in providing toys, clothing and food to children in local communities.

Throughout his career, he has been given numerous service awards and has been acknowledged for his efforts to eradicate hunger and child trafficking; and educating and inspiring youths to serve their communities with diligence and integrity.

He is a seasoned sales professional with over 20 years of experience in multiple industries. Michael owns the Thompson Group Insurance Agency, also located in Marlton which was founded in 2017. Through his business, he has partnered with neighboring schools to donate much needed equipment and supplies to Parent Teacher Associations; he has sponsored the Evesham Fallen Heroes Charity Softball Tournament and has been a sponsor of Marlton Day.

Michael attended Goldey-Beacom College where he studied Business and Marketing Management. He has extensive sales and marketing training. He has also attended the Rotary Leadership Institute where he is a current facilitator.
